The contribution is focused on the issue of the relationship between transport and territorial development. The introduction summarizes individual types of transport, their pros, cons and effects on territorial development. The issue of transport sustainability is also discussed. The focus is also on the position and role of transport in spatial planning. The theoretical assumptions are then applied to two specific examples. Two municipalities were selected, one of which is served by both road and rail transport, while the other only by road transport. At the end of the contribution, the results of the surveys are summarized and the starting points for further solutions are proposed.
