Original language description
Brachytherapy represents one of important methods of cancer treatment. For brachytherapy treatment planning and optimisation, some source characteristics are necessary. Very important parameters as dose rate depth distribution and dose distribution isotropy can be calculated using Monte Carlo photon transport simulation. The model of the 145Sm source in air and water and tissue spherical phantoms described in MCNP4B code is refereed and examples of calculated results are presented.
