Original language description
We consider a special fine grading of sl (3, C), where the grading subspaces are generated by 3 x 3 generalized Pauli matrices. This fine grading decomposes sl(3, C) into eight one-dimensional subspaces. Our aim is to find all contractions of sl (3, C) which preserve this grading. We have found that the symmetry group of this grading is isomorphic to the group of 2 x 2 matrices with entries from the cyclic group Z(3) and determinant +/-1 (mod 3). It is used to simplify the set of the associated nonlinear contraction equations as well as to identify its 186 classes of equivalent solutions.
