Influence of Fe Ions and Some Others Ions on Radiation Degradation of 1,1,2-Trichloroethane in Water

  • Original language description

The influence of some scavengers (bicarbonates, nitrates, sulphates, Fe2+- and Fe3+- ions) on the EB-(electron beam) radiation degradation of 1,1,2 trichloroethane in water was investigated. The dose of 8 kGy is required for 90% degradation of 1,1,2-trichloroethan and the doses of about 16-32 kGy are needed for dechlorination of chlorinated intermediate products. All scavengers under study, in particular Fe3+- ions, exhibited a negative effect on the dechlorination process
