In the participating countries in this 5th EC framework project the problem of how to perform a QA/QC characterization of a large volume waste packages has been recognized as one of the new arising radioactive waste problems. This is due to the fact thatin the near future larger radioactive waste components like from dismantling activities has to be disposed. Report summarize designed methods, corresponding model calculations and theoretical as well as experimental results. As result of the extended research in these fields it could be concluded that a guideline for NDA QA/QC characterization for non-fissile material in large volume waste packages had been established. Such a guideline for fissile material (actinides) to be applied in routine will bemore difficult to be established and concerning matrix characterization and assaying the mass fractions of hydrogen more research has to be needed.

Vývoj metod a postupů pro stanovení QA/QC charakteristik velkoobjemových souborů radioaktivních odpadů

V rámci 5. rámcového programu EC byl v účastnických zemích identifikován a řešen problém metod QA/QC pro velkoobjemové radioaktivní odpady, jehož význam v blízké budoucnosti poroste s potřebou ukončování provozu a likvidace dosluhujících jaderných zařízení. Zpráva shrnuje popis navržených metod, odpovídající modelové výpočty a teoretické a experimentální výsledky. Na základě provedených rozsáhlých výzkumů a vývoje lze shrnout, že byly připraveny návody a doporučení pro metodiky NDA stanovení QA/QC charakteristik neštěpitelných materiálů ve velkoobjemových souborech radioaktivních odpadů. Formulace obdobných návodů a doporučení pro štěpitelné materiály (aktinidy) a rutinní použití je obtížnější a bude vyžadovat ještě další výzkum, zejména v oblasti zahrnutí vlivů matrice a ocenění obsahu vodíku.
