    Comparison of Several Finite Difference Methods for Magnetohydrodynamics in 1D and 2D

  • Original language description

    Compared finite difference methods include composite schemes, central scheme, WENO, component wise CWENO and public freely available packages Nirvana and Flash. Methods are compared on selected 1D and 2D Cartesian geometry problems. Composite and CWENO schemes are generalized to cylindrical geometry and applied to conical z-pinch problem.

    Srovnávané metody konečných diferencí zahrnují složená schemata, centrální schemata, WENO, CWENO po složkách a volně dostupné balíky Nirvana a Flash. Metody jsou porovnány na vybraných 1D a 2D problémech v Kartézské geometrii. Složená a CWENO schemata jsou zobecněna do cylindrické geometrie a použita na kónický z-pinč.
