Fractographic Analysis of Integrally Stiffened Panels for Airplane Wing
Original language description
Application of fractographic method of fatigue crack growth reconstitution based on the striation spacing measurement is conditioned by distinguish ability and measurability of striations on the fracture. The use of fractographic marking enables the reconstitution even if the striations are arduously detectable or wholly missing and also in the case of bodies loaded with complex loading spectrum. A research was focused on design and experimental verification of fracture marking of integrally stiffened panels during the fatigue tests under flight-by-flight spectrum loading. The panels were tested by three kinds of cyclic loading, i.e., constant amplitude loading and flight-by-flight spectrum loading with or without marking. Three various types of fracture marking were suggested. Special attention was given to the influence of the marking loading changes on the fatigue crack kinetics. By identification of individual beach marks, fract. reconstitution of crack growth was carried out.
