An application of unit level logit mixed model to SLCS data
Original language description
This contribution deals with an empirical best predictor (EBP) of small area specific random effect in the context of a unit-level logistic mixed model. Behavior of the EBP based on parameter estimates obtained by the method of simulated moments (MSM) isstudied by a Monte-Carlo simulation experiment. Performance of an estimator of the mean squared error (MSE) of EBP based on approximation of the analytic form is compared with performance of a bootstrap estimator. Finally, an application to estimation of domain poverty incidences based on data of the 2012 Spanish Living Conditions Survey (SLCS) from the Autonomous Community of Valencia is presented.
