    This study is focused on investigation of the temperature and pumping beam radius influence on the output parameters of the longitudinally diode-pumped passively Q-switched Yb:YAG/Cr:YAG microchip laser. The goal was to reach as high as possible an output energy for given pumping power. By optimizing of temperature and pumping beam radius 1.41 ns long pulses with energy up to 2.41 mJ were obtained directly from longitudinally diode-pumped Yb:YAG/Cr:YAG microchip laser at 1030 nm.
