Using genetic engineering methods for detection of genes coding antibiotic resistance in microflora of primates digestive tract
Original language description
The aim of this project is the detection of genes encoding resistance to antibiotics in the digestive tract of primates living wildly in Africa and raised in captivity in the Czech Republic. The first goal of project is to establish appropriate methods ofgenetic engineering and optimizethese methods. Control samples of human digestive bacterial flora are used to establish methodology. DNA is isolated from sample of human faeces, products of DNA amplification by PCR is analyzed by agarose gel electrophoresis. The maingoal is setting PCR condition to increase sensitivity of detection of antibiotic resistance genes. Work on the project continues therefore final testing and experiments at gorilla faeces will take place in future.
