Nanotextile in Air Filtration: a pilot study
Original language description
From ancient times to current days, the infectious diseases and their transmission and spread represent a threat for human beings. Our study was aimed to HEPA air filter transmittance for microorganisms, especially viruses and testing of nanotextile in microorganism interception. The Automated system Biofire Filmarray was used for microorganism detection. rhinovirus, enterovirus and coraonavirus 229 E were detected on the outlet surface of the HEPA filter of household air conditioner. Acinetobacter calcoaceticus-baumannii complex, Escherichia coli, Serratia marcescens,Staphylococcus aureus and coronavirus were detected on the nanotextile inserted in the same household air conditioner behind the outlet side of the HEPA filter. The min result of this study is that the nanotextile is capable to capture smaller microbial particles than the HEPA filter.
