This paper provides an overview of the research done during the week-long APICES (Astroland Project Inside Caves for Earth-based Exploration of Space) mission, organised by ICEE.Space, at the Ares Station of the Astroland Interplanetary Agency in Santander, Spain. This analogue astronaut mission saw a crew of six individuals from a.o. Czechia, North-Macedonia, France, Spain, and the UK, spending just under a week completely in the subsurface of a cave in Northern Spain, close to Santander. The research focused mostly on individual human perception, crew cohesion, medical and mental wellbeing of the participants, and operations of remotely-controlled vehicles. The mission took place under Martian simulation conditions, meaning that there was an extended daily period, closer to a Martian Sol, and a 8-minute one-way time delay between MCC and AA Crew. Research project included; 25-hr 'Martian' day; UV-Laundry; Continuous biomonitoring of the crew; Neurocognitive variance during human-machine interactions; Emergency Protocols; Environmental perception changes; Group social dynamics changes; Individual Stories of isolation experience; Human-Machine Teaming for Lunar Habitat Inspection; Drone Operations.
