Dynamic Response of Masonry Partition Structure to Inside Explosion Effect
Original language description
The paper is concered with an analysis of the laws governing the explosion of the methane-air mix in a testing gallery beyond a simple masonry wall 140 mm thick. The time of overpressure effect is about one second and, concequently, is significantly longer than the basic natural period of the masonry partition structure; the generated pressures attain the ultimate strength of the structure. The paper is based on the variant dynamic response analysis of a rectangular masonry partition and its comparisonwith the results of experimental verification of the bearing capacity of the structure. On the exemple of a real structure the respnse of masonry main walls and partitions, the beginning of the failure of the structure and the shock wave propagation in the structure and in its neighbourhood are analysed.
