Probabilistic Verification of Load Combinations Using Rectangular Wave Renewal Processes with Intermittencies

  • Original language description

Approaches to probabilistic analysis of time-variant structural reliability based on Turkstra’s rule and renewal processes are critically reviewed. Determination of the maximum load effect related to the specified observed period using Turkstra's rule is described in detail. Two lower bounds on the failure probability and an upper bound are then provided considering rectangular wave renewal processes with intermittencies are accepted as a load model for variable actions. Considering a combinationof two variable loads, the described approaches are applied to analyse reliability of a generic structural member designed in accordance with the twin expressions (6.10a) and (6.10b) given in EN 1990. Numerical results show that Turkstra’s rule andthe upper bound yield very similar results. The reliability level of the member, however, seems to be rather high. Parametric study shows that the combination factors recommended in EN 1990 lead to an acceptably well-balanced reliability

Pravděpodobnostní ověření kombinací zatížení s využitím stupňovitých obnovovaných procesů s prodlevami
