Reliability Analysis of Structures Affected by Icing
Original language description
Reliability elements provided in CEN and CENELEC standards for specific types of structures as steel masts and guided towers are analyzed using probability-based reliability methods. Three reliability classes RC1 to RC3 of structures are considered. Thesubmitted analyses confirms preliminary studies that the application of recommended values of partial factors and reduction factors for structural design may lead to significantly lower reliability levels than that accepted in current codes. The partialfactors and other reliability elements should be calibrated against specified target reliability levels. In addition improved models for icing based on available data are needed.
