    Nowadays, there are a number of applications with wire glass in historic and contemporary building structures. An inserted wire should prevent possible hazardous due to damage from failure of glass followed by fall of dangerous debris. In the case, thatthis material is used as a structural element, it is necessary to design structure based on the real characteristic and design values of strength, or usage of modern safety glass with high strength. Very often, unrealistic values of design strength of wire glass are published in our country. The paper contains some experimentally determined characteristic values of bending strength and estimated design values related to commonly used wire glass.
