The aim of the article is focus on long-term monitoring of the sandwich composite structure. The sandwich composite structure is composed of layers having different material and mechanical properties. Sudden change of these properties across the interface causes interlaminar stress. High value of interlaminar stress can lead to delamination and thus it lead to destruction of the sandwich composite structure. Therefore it is important have a good knowledge about behavior of sandwich composite structure because of reliability of the structure, efficient manufacture techniques, and also economics. The monitored sandwich composite structure has been composed of the epoxy-resin-impregnated glass laminates with plain weave as face sheet and the light weight foam Divinycell H100 as sandwich core. SOFO SMARTape Compact deformation sensors were used for long-term monitoring of total strain in sandwich composite structure. Test specimens were loaded in three-point bending test during term more than one year.
