Original language description
The bridge is situated on the road Varvažov - Zvíkovské podhradí, above the Vltava river valley. The bridge was constructed before flooding of the dam works Orlík in the beginning of 60th of 20th century. It was put in operation in 1963. Bridge with four supports was built by the construction free cantilever method from main central pillars erected in the original, non-bloated riverbed. Boundary pillars of the bridge are built on the river banks. Span between central pillar and bank pillars is 84 meters, span between bank pillar and support is 42 meters. Bridge length is about 253 m. Height of the deck above the original Vltava river level is varying between 37 and 54 m. This paper come into existence with cooperation with “Správa a údržba silnic Jihočeského kraje” (Roads management and maintenance - South-Bohemia region).
