USB Lite-Miniaturized readout interface for Medipix2 detector
Original language description
Nowadays, the Medipix2 detector is widely used in many different fields of applications and for some of them the size of the system becomes the critical issue. Therefore we manufactured the miniaturized version of currently used USB interface accommodating the Medipix2 chip on the same printed circuit board as the readout electronics. The dimensions of the whole device are 15 x 60 mm(2) (25% out of it is actually sensitive area). It incorporates all the necessary detector support including the back-sidepulse processing circuits and the high voltage source for detector bias (up to 100 V) and it is fully powered from the USB bus. The readout speed of the Medipix2 chip is about 4 fps.
