Preliminary results of PET measurements
Original language description
This report summarizes preliminary measurements of doppler shifted Positron Emission Tomography (PET) project. Two detection systems, both working in coincidence were chosen - High Purity Germanium (HPGe) detectors, providing precise spectroscopic information, and CdTe Timepix3, enabling position sensitivity and very high compactness. HPGe detectors were precisely calibrated using Cs-137 and Co-60 source and the doppler shift was investigated using Na-22 sources of various activities. A novel calibration algorithm for Timepix3 detector was developed and tested using CdTe detectors of 1 mm and 2 mm thickness. Other properties of CdTe sensors were also tested.
