A problem has been reported four years ago in the running sum for the nuclear matrix element of the two-neutrino double-β decay of 136Xe. The shell model calculations showed a monotonically increasing behavior with respect to the excitation energy of the intermediate state, and the calculations of the quasiparticle random-phase approximation showed a much larger increase and decrease. Based on test calculations and an analytical discussion, I clarify that the cause of this problem is the difference in the interaction strength, and a relatively weak strength is reasonable.
