Original language description
Concrete and especially high performance concrete (HPC) gradually becomes building material with high potential for expectant environmental impact reduction. An analysis of waffle element from textile reinforced high performance concrete (TRHPC) for application in facade panels with significantly reduced amount of concrete is presented. The thickness of a board of optimized waffle shape is only a few millimeters (around 4 mm) and a height of ribs is around 14 mm, so the total thickness of analyzed panel was 18 mm. This waffle element was reinforced by textile reinforcement inside the ribs and also in the middle of the board. The experimental investigation showed that waffle specimens have a very high strength nevertheless they are very light. The LCA analysis and comparison with standard solution shows environmental advantages of this solution. Waffle shape of element brings a 50% reduction of amount of concrete in a comparison to standard solid TRC facade element.
