A novel perspective on liposome synthesis and encapsulation through nanofibers

  • Original language description

Liposomes are lipid-based vesicular vesicles that provide a new platform for medication administration to target cells in a variety of ways. This work aimed to use encapsulated liposomes on nanofibers as a medication delivery system and a theragnostic device. To make liposomes, we employed phospholipids in various quantities and PVA nanofibers (polyvinyl alcohol) and PVP nanofibers (polyvinyl pyrrolidone). We encapsulated liposomes using PVA and PVP nanofibers individually, then added a fluorescent solution in the next step. SEM and fluorescent microscopy were the methods utilized to detect liposomes. The key advantages of liposomes as medication formulations are biodegradability, lesser systemic toxicity, targeted delivery, sensitive molecule protection, and better pharmacokinetics.
