Preparation of Water-Soluble Fullerene Derivative by Reaction with Peracetic Acid and Its nanoparticles Size Distribution

  • Original language description

A water-soluble C60 fullerene Derivative (DF) was obtained by reaction of C60 fullerene with peracetic acid and subsequent hydrolysis. The DF water-solution of the concentration of 147 +-0,1 mg/L at ambient temperature and neutral pH remains stable for along time without the mechanical action (settling) and coagulation of particles. The concentration and the sice of nanoparticles i DFwarer solution were analysed by the NanoSight KM10HSB. Even this system contained a larger particles an analysis after filtration by 0,1 um filter and under 20 x and 10 x objective showed a nice and quite monodispersed distribution of modal particle size 42+53 and 60 nm in concentration 3,5 x 10-8 particles/mL respectively.Comparison of pristine C60 and DF by transmissionelectron microscopy TEM (100kV) and scannig election microscopy SEMresults showed differences in the size of the irregular complexes and in their crystallinity. Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR) spcterometry of DF detected -OH groups, a
