This contribution presents the application of self-tuning digital PID controllers for process control modeled by d - models. The process is identified by the regression (ARX) model using the recursive least squares method (RLSM) with selective data weight. The basic RLSM algorithm has been modified for the d - model structures. Controller synthesis is designed on the basis of the pole placement method (a double real pole and a pair of complex conjugated poles with the same real component has been chosenin the characteristic polynomial). Two digital PID controller structures have been designed in d - modification.
