    Reduction of Noise and Vibrations Emitted by Rail Vehicles

  • Original language description

    There are studied problems connected with attenuation of vibrations and noise suppression emitted by rail vehicles. There are discussed construction principles and methods of evaluation of noise deadening and vibration damping characteristics of damper with a special respect to selective frequency regions requested. Mathematical models allowing calculation of quantitative characteristics are discussed. Acoustic properties of the damper-wheel systems are described in our models for different constructiontypes and different materials and geometry characteristics. Material characteristics are described by physical quantities used in engineering praxes both from literature or company references, and are possible to be experimentally determined and evaluated. As an addition, there are discussed physical principles and methods for measurement of the latter quantities. New construction type of damper is compared with the presently used system without damper by experimental measurements.
