Original language description
The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of a LPA, namely poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) and its concentrations on volume shrinkage during the curing process of UP resin at various initial temperature. The effect of glass addition at variouscontent was investigated too. A home#built cylindrical dilatometer, which allowed for on-line measurement of shrinkage was employed. The temperature inside the cylinder was measured by a thermocuple. Based on integral experimental results from volume change and temperature change the mechanism of LPA action in volume shrinkage control and factors, which effect the overall volume change during the cure, are discussed. The effectivity of a commercial LPA additive was compared.
