It is believed that the mechanical and fracture properties of UP resins may be improved with the aid of elastomer additives. his chapter discusses the effect of VTBNX (acrylonittrile-butadien copolymers with vinyl groups at the pendant as well as terminal positions)on the shrinkage behaviour of unsaturated polyester resin cured at temperatures 80 and 90°C. The influence of this additive on mechanical behaviour of the cured UP resin was also observed in order to determine the breadth of practical use. Particularly was investigated dependence of fractural behaviour, flexural strength and glass transition temperature on the amount of VTBNX in the cured UP resin.
