Original language description
The term self-reinforcement is used to describe a material-based effect through which the material becomes intrinsically reinforced as a result of specific measures taken to influence the molecular orientation. In present article, an equipment enabling self-reinforcement of polymers has been tested. It has been found that prepared profile using this equipment has more than 3 times higher modulus than normally prepared extrudate. Study of mechanical properties and morphology of the samples extruded fromHDPE has been carried out using DMA, DSC and electron microscopy.
