    "Self-reinforcement is material-based effect through which reinforcement of polymer is not caused by addition any fillers but by a result of macromolecular chains orientation. Significant self-reinforcement is obtained with PE because the narrow PE chains are most easily oriented. A high molecular weight and a linear chain structure with few branches favor self-reinforcement. Some self-reinforcement is also possible with PP. In present article, novel equipment enabling self-reinforcement of polymers during continuous extrusion was tested. It was found that prepared profile using this equipment has more than 3 times higher modulus than normally prepared extrudate. Study of mechanical properties and morphology of the samples extruded from HDPE was carried out using DMA, tensile testing and electron microscopy."
