Skin-Core Morphology of Injection Molded Polypropylene
Original language description
Variances of the skin-core morphology as a function of the mold temperature and their influence on the machanical behavior of injection-molded samples have been investigated. Injection molding, WAXD, optical polarized microscopy, Charpy notch impact testing and tensile testing have been used. It has been found that increasing mold temperature improves arrangement of morphology, spherulite size and tensile modulus of the samples. On the other hand, notch impact strength of tested samples has decreased with increasing mold temperature.
