    Analyses of Multicomponent Injection Molding

  • Original language description

    Co-injection molding of thermoplastics and thermoplastic-elastomers has already reached a high degree of process reliability. The process opens up new hitherto unattainable design and styling opportunities. Thermoplastic elastomer composites will therefore increasingly be found in numerous new developments. Such composites can primarily replace parts that are currently produced by laborious manual assembly. Examples include plug-and-socket systems for electrical industry and housing and valve covers with seals for the automotive industry. The production of thermoplastics-elastomer composites in an integrated co-injection process is economical at relatively small volume rates and complete plant utilization is only achieved. Optimized geometry and process conditions contribute to important decreasing production costs and lowering labor costs.
