Analyses of Co-injection and Encapsulation Process
Original language description
Co-injection molding of thermoplastics and thermoplastic-elastomers has already reached a high degree of process reliability. The process opens up new hitherto unattainable design and styling opportunities. There are special advantages in the multi-component co-injection of seals with complex geometries, subject to high demands on the surface quality of the part and seal and multicavity molds. It poses high requirements for part and mold design. If computer analyses and simulations are used in development of parts and molds then costs and time-consuming are saved. In multi-components injection molding there are produced molded parts in which the individual components are clearly separated from one another. All of the components of the injected pieces, which are thus created, are visible on the surface and thus define the appearance and the function of the molded part. The example of the two component injection molding is the encapsulation of the two aluminum contacts and cables in body
