SOFTWARE CONVERTER FOR 8-BIT MOTOROLA MICROCONTROLLERS
Original language description
This paper proposes a method for conversion of programmatic equipment from microcontrollers Motorola 68HC11 to 68HC08 which are often used in control applications. Microcontrollers 68HC08 represent new Motorola 8-bit standard, which includes a lot of newfeatures such as FLASH ROM, EEPROM, USB, CAN and other useful peripherals. If we want to use this new generation of microcontrollers with software from 68HC11, we encounter problem with CPU incompatibility, because central processing unit is fully upward object code compatible with the 68HC05 family. On the basis of instruction set analysis of both microcontrollers the conversion program has been created. This program transforms individual instructions of MC68HC11 to blocks of instructions of MC68HC08that fully functionally substitute original instructions. Converter support source files in AS11 form, generated output file is in the form of compiler CASM08Z.
