    Role of lactic acid bacteria on polymer degradation

    Research on lactic acid bacteria has advanced greatly in recent years and is assuming importance in many diverse areas including biotechnology, nutrition, health, food safety as well as degradation of polymer like polylactic acid, a well known thermoplastic, aliphatic polyester derived from lactic acid. To evaluate the best role of lactic acid bacteria on polymer degradation some selective strains of Lactobacillus were investigated in case of degradation of PELA-PES copolymer.

    Výzkum v oblasti laktobacilů nabývá v poslední době na důležitosti v mnoha rozličných oblastech jako například v potravinářství, biotechnologii, péči o zdraví, ale i oblasti biodegradace polymerů na bázi kyseliny mléčné. Tato práce vyhodnocuje roli několika vybraných kmenů Lactobacillus při degradaci kopolymeru PELA-PES.
