Study of amino acid contents in some selected legumes species

  • Original language description

The peas (Pisum sativum L.), soya bean (Glycine max), lupin (Lupinus albus) and paluska arkta (Pisum sativum var arvense) are in the family of Leguminacea and good source of proteins. Amino acid analysis is a good indicator to measure the content of protein which may vary according to different species and environmental factors (Wathelet, 1999). Therefore, it is relevant to evaluate the amino acid content of each of the species of legumes grown under Central Europe soil and environmental conditions. Theabove analytical data revealed, yellow peas, lupin, soya bean, and paluska artka that grown in central Europe are rich in lysine, leucine and arginine and can fulfil the essential amino acid requirement of human diet. The highest content of amino acidsfound in the above tested legumes was aspartic acid, glutamic acids and arginin
