Cross-linking of collagen hydrolysate with dialdehyde starch
Original language description
Experiments studied the influence of cross-linking agent (dialdehyde starch) onto solubility of films prepared from collagen hydrolysate. By adding of dialdehyde starch solubility of films in water can be markedly changed. Solubility course of films prepared under defined conditions is not only dependent on amount of added cross-linking agent, but also on further treatment of films, especially by thermal exposition. Thermal exposition (physical modifications) can markedly vary the extent of cross-linking and thus also its solubility. The greatest difference in solubility curves were recorded between thermal expositions at 60, 70 and 80 oC. Solubility curves are important properties at biodegradable films applications in practice, especially for modeling of releasing of active substance(s) from such a packaging.
