The aim of our report is an experiment based on archaeological finds resulting in a functional model of the saddle used in Great Moravia in 8 to 9th century including the verification of the riding properties. The saddle was reconstructed on a base of discoveries of Avar and Hun saddles which were adopted by Slavs.
