Original language description
Adhesive interactions of Lactobacillus acidophilus with surfaces of eight types of dietary fibre were investigated by using MATH (microbial adhesion to hydrocarbons) assay. The fibre from oat, wheat, potato, rise, pea, carrot, citrus, and apple was usedfor testing. All the tested strains showed the highest adhesion to wheat and oat fibre (> 60 %). Adhesion of apple and citrus fibre was very low with retention capacity up to 7 % in citrus and up to 21 % in apple fibre.
