Electrorheological behaviour of suspensions of aniline oligomers under electric field
Original language description
This study is aimed on the simple preparation of the aniline oligomers oxidized with p-benzoquinone in the presence of the methanesulfonic acid (MSA). This way of the preparation provides particles with the flake-like morphology. The molar concentrationof MSA influencing conductivity and polarizability of the particles and thus change the electrorheological (ER) behaviour of the suspensions. Oscillatory shear measurements evaluated the behaviour of the suspensions consisting of synthesized particles suspended in silicone oil in the absence and in the presence of the external electric field, respectively. Finally, electrorheological (ER) efficiency of the suspensions was investigated and was found that suspension consisting of more conducting particles(0.5 MSA) exhibit higher ER effect than that of suspension contains low conducting particles (0.1 MSA).
