Original language description
Nowadays the lack of own fruit production and rapidly decreasing tendency of fruit consumption have become more and more topical problem. The research dealing with fruit consumption and about knowledge of fruit included 444 pupils from primary schools inthe Levice region. The consumption addition of this worsening situation is reflected in schools in dietary habits of pupils consuming lesser amount of fruit (only 37% of pupils consume fruit two or more times a day) and in the most cases only their favourable - apple (62%) or bananas (17%). On the other hand, it is positive that pupils bring fruit to school as a part of elevenses (69%) and a very high level of pupil's knowledge exists about health benefits of fresh fruit because of the exceptional highlevel of vitamins especially ascorbic acid (in this way pupils mentioned lemon - 53%, apple - 23%, orange 10%) and mineral matters (85% of respondents), dietary fiber (9%) or other healthy components not described in details (6%).
