Chinese record GDP growth speed cannot go unnoticed, especially in context with the low level of inflation, stabile foreign exchange rate, and a significant trade and budget surplus balance. This dynamically growing economy is having the evergrowing needs in each industry sector. One of those sectors is a plastic industry with its products in every part of the economy. To measure the plastic industry growth potential in context with the enormous Chinese economy growth is this article goal. Those questions are answered by defining Chinese plastic industry growth efficiency, sector employment figures, fixed capital growth and manufacturing capacities effectiveness, compared with the other sectors.

V současné ekonomické realitě nelze přehlédnout rekordní tempo a dlouhodobý růst HDP Číny, při relativně nízkém růstu inflace, stabilním kurzu a výrazném přebytku obchodní i platební bilance. Tato dynamicky se rozvíjející ekonomika má rostoucí potřeby vjednotlivých průmyslových odvětvích. K jedněm z významných odvětví patří plastikářský průmysl, jehož výrobky lze nalézt ve všech průmyslových odvětvích národního hospodářství. Odhadnout růstový potenciál plastikářského průmyslu v návaznosti na enormní růst čínské ekonomiky a její potřeby je cílem příspěvku. Daná problematika je řešena přes definování růstové výkonnosti čínského plastikářského průmyslu, zaměstnanosti v odvětví, nárůstu fixního kapitálu a efektivnosti podniků, ve srovnání s ostatními průmyslovými odvětvími.
