The article was aimed at describing companies? approaches to optimization of assembly workplaces and proposing generally valid methodology that would be a guide book for these companies. The article did not look on optimization only point of of increaseof working productivity but it also considered possibilities of implementing the Environmental Management Systems. These environmental systems were intended for formalization of procedures for managing and decreasing of environmental impacts on workers.The assembly firms usually did not use complex and certified systems of the environmental management, and that was why this article dealt with elements of environmental management system and possibilities of assembly workplaces to implement the Standardsof ISO 14001 or of the Eco Management and Audit Scheme.
