The paper presents partial results of a study that focuses on the willingness of local companies in the Czech Republic to the application of socially responsible business (CSR) with regard to the principles of Bata Management System. This research triesto prove that Tomas Bata evolved business system that develops business activities based on the principles of CSR and CSV (Creating Shared Value). The research is divided into three parts. The first one is focused on mapping the operating of Bata Management System before 1945. Its aim is to define basic principles of the system and therefore it is carried out on the basis of qualitative research methods such as analysis of historical data, phenomenological research, method of oral history and biographical research. The second part is focused on the analysis of CSR in selected companies. This research was based on qualitative and quantitative methods (interviews, analysis, surveys) within the selected companies.
