Original language description
virual event. Product design plays a critical role in driving innovation across all areas of organizational management, from tangible products and services to marketing tools and business models. However, investing in design improvements where customers are already satisfied can lead to unnecessary costs and diminishing returns. The challenge is to strategically determine where design investments will truly add value. In this webinar, we will introduce an interactive board game developed by Tomas Bata University in Zlín (Czech Republic). The game, based on a System Dynamics model, simulates six years of economic development for a business and calculates the impact of product design changes on profitability. Participants will learn how this tool helps businesses identify weak points, assess design investments, and ultimately improve profitability. The game has been improved with better mechanics, gameplay, and a more targeted approach for different customer types, making it easier for companies to use in identifying design improvements.Learning Outcomes:Understand the dynamic relationship between product design and business profitability.Learn how to assess the value of design investments using a System Dynamics model.Explore how the board game simulates real-world economic scenarios to support better decision-making.Discover practical strategies for improving product design based on game results.Gain insights into how to use the game to gather key data for business growth.
