Methods of Machine Cognition of Human Faces

  • Original language description

Biometric systems use human characteristics (like fingerprints, iris patterns, retina lay-out, etc.) to ensure higher security requirements in companies, residences, houses and flats. Each biometric system has its own level of reliability, which destinesit for specific purposes: to secure highly hazardous rooms with possible confidential information leakage, we use retina or iris recognition biometric systems; on the other hand, to secure own flat the fingerprint scanner can be enough. All of these systems work on various bases, using hundreds of methodologies, techniques and algorithms. This short survey tries to describe important techniques for the face recognition, which are the base line for the creation of the sophisticated software.
