Original language description
The software is designed to simulate a single contact extraction process, especially fat deacidifiaction. This process is a part of development and optimization of technology of biodiesel production from waste fats and oils. The initial mixture of feed and solvent is separated into two phases: extract and raffinate. The calculation is based on experimentally measured partition constants which are defined by user. The other inputs are composition of the feed and amounts of both feed and solvent. The calculation itself is based on the method of "approximative balance" which is a variant of a fixed-point theorem in the space of concentrations. The software is able to calculate the composition of the final raffinate and extract, the ratio of raffinate to solvent. In case of fat deacidification, the software also calculates the deacidification efficiency, loss of fat in solvent and loss of solvent in fat.
