Optimized Source Code Generation from State Charts
Original language description
Source code generation based on state charts describing behavioral structure of the application is often an integral part of modern CASE tools. This paper describes techniques and algorithms used in open-source cross-platform CASE tool called CodeDesigner RAD developed at Tomas Bata University suitable for production-ready source code generation of complete C/C++ applications from a formal visual description based UML state charts. It shows principles used for source state chart preprocessing as well principles used for generation of optimized source code from the preprocessed diagrams.
