Optimized Production-Ready Source Code Generation Based on UML
Original language description
Automated source code generation is often an integral part of modern CASE tools. Unfortunately, the generated code usually covers a basic application functionality/structure only. This paper shows principles and algorithms used in open-source cross-platform CASE tool called CodeDesigner RAD developed at Tomas Bata University suitable for production-ready source code generation of complete C/C++ or Python applications from formal visual description based on UML diagrams. It shows how source state chartsare preprocessed as well principles used for generation of optimized source code from the preprocessed diagrams.
