Original language description
This paper presents an analysis of free software which can be used for the modelling and simulation of a mini-UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). Every UAV design, construction, implementation and test is unique and presents different challenges to engineers.Modelling and simulation software can decrease the time and costs needed to development of any UAV. The first part of the paper is about general information of UAVs. The fundamentals of airplane flight mechanics are also mentioned. The following sectionbriefly describes the modelling and simulation of the UAV and a flight dynamics model. The main section summarizes free software for the modelling and simulation of the UAV. There is described the following software: Digital Datcom, JSBSim, FlightGear,and OpenEaagles. Other software is mentioned only. Finally, the results of the analysis are discussed in conclusion.
